Menjavents is the old Ymir. It is a 38-foot sailboat, 11.4 meters long, built in year 87 by German yards in Dehler.
Menjavents is a good "school sailingboat" for its versatility. It has many possible sailing combinations and set-ups, allowing you to be control of the boat, it is fast with little wind and safe with strong wind, it’s a comfortable sailboat with the necessary amenities to spend a few days on board.
In terms of sails, Menjavents has a full set of sails, six fore sails (Genoa, Jib and storm jib). Two sails de estay volante, three cruising shute, and main sail with two reefing points. The wide range of sails allows many sail change combinations for all conditions of wind and sea state.
Below deck it has three double cabins plus two extra beds in the lounge, two bathrooms, kitchen with oven and fridge and a spacious chart table ... In addition to the chart table, we have a VHF radio, a speedometer, an odometer, a GPS and a simple control panel.
The chart table is almost a "sacred" space because, without rejecting help from new technologies, we opt for a real navigation where the marine chart, the compass, the log and the sextant recover the importance they had long time ago.
This little detail makes navigation be a real adventure…
